Yesterday
I met Lil several years ago at the nursing home her husband Mike (& my Grandpa ) were in. We became instant friends. Lil called is "nighthawks" because we were notorious for staying up so late. After Lil tucked Mike into bed after helping him put on his pajamas, she would sit & hold his hand until he fell asleep. We would sit & talk or watch movies I brought over while eating grilled cheese sandwiches. Sometimes we would make a midnight run to Denny´s for a snack or sundae. Then we would tell funny cat stories while petting her cats - Baby & Maisey. You may think a friendship with a 29 year age gap wouldn´t work but it did & it was a blessing . I send all my love & prayers to Nancy & Laurie & their big beautiful families. I will miss my buddy Lil always but I bet she´s baking cookies for God & making him smile......
