From the earliest days of the Moffat campaign, to his "conversion" to the to the other side, Lou was a guy who always told you where he stood and what he believed in. I never respected anyone more. Lou was a dear friend for so many years and gave so very much to everyone he knew. As the Scungilli and Marching Society gathers in heaven, Lou leaves with so many good memories and stories to tell. Dottie, my deepest condolences to you and your entire family. Lou's passing leaves a hole that cannot be filled, but his work is done here and therefore, may he go with God and rest in peace.

To the Salvio Families: Louis has work so passion for our city to get better, gave his best for those to lead. Once Louis get to know you, he is a person want you to do better by learning, my writing was poor, got better blogging many times, we became very good friend, often talk at stop and shop.
His passing won't be forgotten the good work he did as a Common Council, work to have a better school system. May GOD BLESS Louis for giving us all so much of his hard work to do better, healing for his families.

Lou was a great man and mentor to me personally. We both graduated from CCSU and I bought a home in New Britain and read Lou's many letters to the editor in the New Britain Herald over the years and wrote many of my own critical of our Mayoral leadership. We both worked hard as did many others to help Mayor Tim Stewart become Mayor and then Lou was appointed Chairman of the Board of Finance and I served with Lou on the Board of finance for 5 years. Lou spent his life in New Britain and knew everything and everyone and was a great mentor to me and others. This evening I was participating in Granby's board of finance meeting and a mutual friend who is the Chair and knows how highly I thought of Lou informed me Lou passed. You were a great man Lou and I thank you for everything you taught meet. Rest easy, Lou. We will take it from here.

Mr. Salvio was one of my favorite teachers at Sedgwick. What a wonderful man with a great sense of humor. I don't think he ever forgot a student he had in school. His spirit lives on.
