MaryLou Larsen Obituary
MaryLou Larsen, 85, of Burlington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on October 13, 2025.
MaryLou had a passion for gardening and took great pride in creating vibrant, beautiful spaces filled with flowers and plants. Her home at 161 Vanderbilt Road in Bristol, where she lived for most of her life, was a testament to her green thumb and artistic touch. In 2002, the City of Bristol honored her with a Beautification Award, recognizing the stunning landscape she had lovingly cultivated. Even after moving to Canton and as her health declined, MaryLou continued to surround herself with plants -- especially her cherished orchids -- bringing life and beauty into every room.
A gifted cook, MaryLou loved entertaining family and friends, with her delicious meals and famous apple pies.
MaryLou dedicated her professional life to nursing, a career that brought her immense pride and satisfaction. Helping others came naturally to her, and she carried that same spirit of care and compassion into her personal life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; her son, Jan Michael Church; her daughter, Karen Patricia Church; her sister, Carol Ann Critelli; and her brother, Mark Buzzy Fregeau. MaryLou is survived by her devoted daughter, Holly Denis, and son-in-law, Paul, of Burlington. She was a proud grandmother to Nicole Clark and her fianc, Derek LaBell, and to Jan Michael Denis and his wife, Jenna. She leaves behind four cherished great-grandchildren: Jamie Clark, JR, Shaelyn Clark, Evelyn Denis, and Cameron Denis. Also surviving MaryLou are her dear companion, Will Lagasse, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was a fantastic neighbor and friend. We enjoyed visiting each other's homes at Holidays and any day of the week. Mary was a fabulous cook and baker. Her Swedish Meatballs and Apple Pie were outstanding. Even after
moving to Canton, she would frequent Bristol to visit with her granddaughter and children, and arrive early purposely to visit with us. She was a special woman. She was always ready to help anyone and try to encourage during difficult times. She truly was a love and will be missed. Rest in peace dear friend. Love and prayers to the family we are so very sorry for your loss.
