Randall Mola Obituary

BRISTOL

With great sadness and much love in our hearts, the family of Randall "Randy" W. Mola announces his passing on Monday, June 22, 2023. Randy was born on October 21, 1955, the son of F. Michael Mola and the late Janet (Lilley) Mola. Randy grew up in Bristol and graduated from Bentley University in Waltham, MA. He worked for the family businesses, Metallics, Inc. and Avanti Screw, throughout his career. Always a kid at heart, Randy truly loved his toys. His interests ranged from sports cars and arcade games, to drones and RC cars. It was in his year after retirement that he was able to fully pursue his true passion. He opened his own shop, Area 51 RC and Hobby, to share knowledge of the hobbies he enjoyed so dearly. Randy was one-of-a-kind and will be deeply missed. Proud father, loyal son and brother, and reliable friend, he is survived by his beloved sons, Alex R. Mola of Somerville, MA and Anthony M. Mola of Bristol, CT, his sister and brother-in-law, Jill (Mola) and Bill Ramsey, his father and step-mother, F. Michael and Ann G. Mola, all of Boerne TX, his uncle, Robert A. Mola of Bristol, an extended family of first and second cousins, and a multitude of friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Janet (Lilley) Mola, his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Gladys Lilley, and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Antoinette (Eramo) Mola. In his passing, Randy selflessly gave the gift of life through organ donation. Calling hours will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 5 until 7 PM. I am very saddened to learn of Randy's passing. I never met him but we spoke on the phone several times over the last couple of years as we both worked on the sale of the family business and we became friends because of our mutual love of old cars, etc. RIP my friend.
