Tadeusz Teddy Prokop, 84, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2025. Born on July 17, 1941, in Poland, he was a longtime resident of New Britain, Connecticut, and recently made his home in Harwinton, Connecticut.
Teddy is survived by his devoted wife, Jane; his son Edward Prokop and wife Kim Prokop; his son Richard Prokop and companion Amy McCallum. He leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Alexander, Christian, Jaxon, and Josephine; who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Mieczyslaw Prokop and Jean Grezlik, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Known for his bright blue eyes, quick wit, and warm sense of humor, Teddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose presence brought happiness to all who knew him. A dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life, he was employed by Fafnir Bearing, Timken, Torrington Company, and the New Britain Memorial Funeral Home.
After immigrating to the United States, Teddy became a proud U.S. citizen and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He remained deeply connected to his heritage and community, actively participating as a member and volunteer of the General Haller Post 111 and the Polish Falcon clubs in New Britain.
Teddy was happiest in his garden tending to his plants, crafting kielbasa and smoked meats, camping at Hammonasset Beach, watching soccer, or enjoying his favorite game shows. Always ready to lend a hand, he was someone family and friends could count on for help with anything they needed. Above all, he was his wife's best friend and a beloved father, whose love was unwavering.
He will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will live on in all who loved him.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. To 10:30 a.m. at New Britain Memorial Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain CT. A Funeral Liturgy will also take place Wednesday November 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St New Britain, CT. The Burial Service will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery 662 Burritt St. New Britain CT at 12:00 p.m. with full military honors.
