It is with heartful sadness that we say goodbye to Todd Andrew Turcotte, 57, son of Dorothy & Ralph Fish and Normand & Barbara Turcotte. He passed away in the presence of loved ones on December 14, 2025. Family and friends were blessed to have Todd in our lives. He was a member of the generation of people with special needs who transformed our society by making it more accepting, more kind, more compassionate and more inclusive. May the Lord take him sweetly in his arms and give him the comfort he deserves and deliver him to eternal life. Todd possessed a stubborn determination and a will to live the gift of life as he saw fit. Todd attended the local BARC (Bristol Adult Resource Center) day program. He enjoyed watching video tapes and playing with his records, puppets and books. He delighted in frequenting local dining establishments to partake in his favorite cuisine and to associate with the regulars. He was a prankster, performing spontaneous actions much to the chagrin of his victims. He had a great sense of humor, enjoying word play and situational comedy. Family was always very important to Todd and he looked forward to holidays and family gatherings to spend time with the ones he loved. Everyone who has ever met Todd will never, ever forget him. Left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved parents Dorothy & Ralph Fish of Bristol and Barbara Turcotte of Climax, NC. He was the loving brother of Jane Pilkington of Winnabow, NC, Nancy Hackbarth of Bristol, Marge (Justin) Rivera of Bristol, and Scott (Elissa) Turcotte of Vernon, CT. He also leaves memories of his journey to numerous nieces. Todd was predeceased by his father, Normand Turcotte, his sister, Kathy Lee and his best friend Ronald Choiniere. He also cherished the memories of his beloved grandmothers Sophie Melasky and Laura Turcotte. Todd was also a member of a second family- his care givers, friends and house mates at the Hartford Regional Center in Newington. They loved and cared for him over the years as if he was their own. They too endured his practical jokes with grace. They gave him the opportunity of greater independence and of an enriched life experience. His primary family expresses their gratitude for these angels on earth. The family also offers thanks and gratitude to the staff at the University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital for their compassion and care for Todd and his family during his illness. We will be forever grateful. Calling hours for Todd will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Funk Funeral Home followed by the burial at Saint
