Mrs. Stillman was a compassionate and dedicated believer in the rights of animals to have the best care and the chance at a "forever home". Those of us in the animal sheltering/rescue field deeply appreciated her devotion and generosity in helping those beliefs become a reality for the animals passing through our doorways. We can only aspire to reach her level of dedication to this cause. We and the animals of the Laguna Madre area will miss her.

I only met my father's Aunt Cathy once for lunch in New York City, but she made a lasting impression of kindness and sincerity that is evident in many of these guest book entries.

While I only had the good fortune to meet Catherine twice, her kindness, passion for her various causes and warm, gentle nature were very obvious, and she always made me feel very welcome and at home.
I will miss her and extend my most sincere condolences to her entire family.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences to Catherine's family. I met Catherine through the Brownsville SPCA meetings and activities. She indeed had a compassionate, loving heart to anyone and any being who needed support and love. I know that all the animals that she rescued greeted her when she arrived to heaven.

We the members at Advent Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Day School give thanks to the Almigthy God for allowing her to be with us as one of our dearest parishioners, friend and benefactor.
For bestowing her with a Christ like love and pouring it to persons in need and charities and even to animals.
Thanks God, thanks Jesus Christ and thanks Holy Spirit for leading her to be
an Angel of the Lord.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Stillman but as a personal friend of Mayor Pat Ahumada, I know he held her in the highest esteem and shared her passion for animals and their welfare. Her many friends and admirers will carry on her work to honor her memory.

I did not personally know Mrs. Stillman, but when I advertised my puppy missing, she telephoned me to offer my family support during our search. She was so caring and supportive and I am honored to have had a beautiful conversation with her.

It was my pleasure to take care of Mrs. Stillman during my days at the Heart Institute. I can tell you that with her passing, a significant part of classic Brownsville has passed with her. I will surely miss taking care of her and listening to her stories. I am truly thankful for knowing her.
