RICHMOND HILL - Janice Cornelia Bashlor Clark, 81, of
Richmond Hill, Ga., went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after a long, hard-fought journey battling the effects of a major stroke.
She was born in
Richmond Hill, Ga., on September 5, 1944, to the late Claude E. and Eula Bashlor. Janice was the youngest of 11 children.
Janice married Dennis Howard Clark on November 24th, 1963, in
Richmond Hill, Ga. They met by chance on a double date - each with someone else - but destiny had other plans. What began as a simple evening out soon became the start of a lifelong love story of 61 years.
After marriage, they lived in
Hinesville, Ga., and moved to Richmond Hill in 1977.
Janice was a member of Daniel Baptist Church. She was baptized in the new sanctuary in 1987.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and nanny. She was an extraordinary cook. Her cream corn was world famous. At Christmas, it was always the best divinity and fudge that she made for friends, family and neighbors.
Janice loved to get her nails done. She loved a weekly trip to Belk that always ended in a new pocketbook. She also loved to talk on the phone and spending time with her family that she loved so dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Howard Clark; two daughters, Pam Seebeck of Richmond Hill and Christy Jones and her husband, Chris, of Richmond Hill. Janice, affectionately called "Nanny", is survived by two granddaughters, Shelby Phillips and her husband, Ross, of Richmond Hill; and Blakeleigh Jones and her fiancé, Jack Harrison, of Richmond Hill; and three loving sisters, Betty Emerson of Richmond Hill, Margie Fountain of Hinesville and Eunice Townsend of Springfield, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Seebeck; son-in-law, Stevie Seebeck; brothers, P.H. Bashlor, C.T. Bashlor and Hubert Bashlor; and sisters, Willma Gregory, Inez Smith, Ima Long and Lynette Pittman.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Stephanie Falls, a literal angel on earth, and also to the compassionate staff of St. Joseph Home Health for their exceptionally kind and caring support.
The family received friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Daniel Baptist Church.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at noon at Daniel Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Cooper officiating. Burial immediately followed the service at Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
