Louis Oliver Obituary
Mr. Louis Calvin Oliver, 78, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, while under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Oliver, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was previously in charge of housekeeping at Memorial University Medical Center and later retired as a truck driver for the American Red Cross. He loved to fish and most of all he loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Jean Oliver, and one son, Aaron Oscar Oliver.
Survivors include his son, Louis C. Oliver Jr. of Pembroke; daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah O. Ramirez of Savannah and Stephanie and Scott Smith of Kennesaw; three brothers, Raymond Oliver of Pembroke and Mike Oliver and Tim Oliver, both of Ellabell; four sisters, Annette Anrea of Tybee, Gail Layne of Tennessee, Janice Strickland of Savannah and Kim Lee of Groveland; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stanley Tyson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
