Richard Bowers Obituary
A devoted man of faith, Richard was a member and elder of New Life Church of God, where he faithfully served and shared his love for the Lord with others. For years, he greeted his church family with a smile and a warm cup of coffee, always made special with his Cuban creamer that so many came to cherish.
Richard enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, retiring as general manager of Golden Isle Harley Davidson, where he worked for 13 years in both Savannah and Brunswick. Earlier in life, he worked as a retail store manager for Cook's Department Store, later continuing with Walmart after the company's transition.
A charter member of the 17 South Rod and Gun Club, Richard was an avid gun enthusiast. He loved open-air drives on his motorcycle and in his Mercedes, and simple pleasures like enjoying coffee at the Kroger Starbucks, where he would visit with friends and strike up conversations with everyone he met. He truly never met a stranger or let anyone leave a conversation.
Richard also loved playing pool.
Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Collins; his sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Linda Bowers; daughter, Lisa Bowers; grandchildren, Mariah Bowers, Travis Collins and Dillon Collins; son-in-law, DeWayne Collins; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at New Life Church of God, followed by burial in Burnt Church Cemetery.
Richard's life was marked by faith, family and fellowship. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

My condolences to Richard’s family .
I am very sad to read that Richard passed away , I am a Barista at Starbucks in Richmond Hill Kroger . I have known Richard for may years probably since this Kroger opened . He did not come to get his coffee anymore and I was wondering if he was alright knowing that his health was not so great lately
He always wanted his coffee strong and freshly brewed as a pour over . We had many great conversations and he talked about all his adventures and yes his love for collecting guns . He will be missed .

Many great memories Grant and I have with Richard. All the driveway conversations we had over the years. Lending us a hand when we needed one. His sense of humor was golden. He introduced Grant to the Publix chicken wings, and Grant will be forever grateful!! Richard, you will be missed but always remembered.

I am so saddened. I just found out of my friends passing. Richard was my "Bestest Buddy" as I always called him. He and I go back many years, with many special and happy memories. He always made me smile and laugh. There was never a dull moment with Richard. My heart is heavy, and my eyes are full of tears. Much love and hugs to my Buddy's precious wife and my dear, dear friend, also to his entire family. Richard, you are greatly loved and missed.

Richard was like my 2nd Daddy, I will always remember when Richard and Mrs Linda bought me a 10 speed bike for Christmas, the trip to Disney and sea world,the many sleep overs with lisa somenof the best childhood memories I have are with Daddy Richard, lisa,mrs.Linda Kim. I will forever cherish . Daddy Richard was an amazing man with a kind loving heart and huge personality. Ride with the angels Richard!! Mrs.Linda and Lisa y'all are in my thoughts and prayers so sorry for you loss. Love all of y'all.

Richard always had a smile on his face and had such a pleasant presence about him.

I met Richard when I bought my motorcycle from Savannah Harley Davidson in 1997. I then joined the HOG Chapter there. There are many great memories of riding with Richard and Linda on many occasions. His bright smile and laugh along with his great sense of humor will always be treasured memories of him!
