Bonnie J. Verhoff, 74, Selma, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at her sister's residence in Perrysburg, after an extended illness. Bonnie was born on Oct. 4, 1950, in Wauseon, daughter of the late Leonard W. and Nellie M. (Thompson) Morr. In addition to her parents, she was raised by her stepfather, Richard Bauer. Bonnie graduated from Bryan High School in 1968. She married Dennis J. Verhoff in Nov. 1971, then moved to Alabama starting a family before the marriage ended. Bonnie owned and operated Bob's Grocery in Selma, Alabama, serving the community for over 25 years. When not running her store, she kept busy raising her children and attending her grandchildren's activities all throughout their school careers. Bonnie was a talented artist and occasionally found time to paint, which she loved. She also enjoyed raising and riding horses over the years.
Surviving are her two children, Jennifer (Will) Roberts of Orrville, Alabama, and Josh (Jessica) Verhoff of Orrville, Alabama; five grandchildren, William Roberts, Taylor Roberts, Hadley Verhoff, Hudson Verhoff and Hayes Verhoff; two siblings, Tommy (Janis) Moor of Bryan and Manda Mack of Perrysburg; sister-in-law, Terry Morr of Fayette; significant other, Blann Bell of Selma, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Richard Bauer; infant son, Judd Verhoff; brother, Terry Morr; and brother-in-law, Doug Mack.
Visitation for Bonnie J. Verhoff will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn St., Bryan, Ohio 43506. The family will be planning to a memorial service, to be held in Alabama, at a future date.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
