Ignacio R. Garza Jr., 75, formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 at Quartet Senior Living in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Ignacio was born April 22, 1950, in Bryan, the son of Ignacio R. & Guadalupe (Celestino) Garza. He was a 1969 graduate of Bryan High School and Kent State University. He had been employed in sales with GlaxoSmithKline.
Ignacio enjoyed sports, especially Michigan and the New England Patriots, joking with his brothers and laughing with his friends. He loved watching Matt play soccer, racing with his grandkids and playing catch with Dewy, Matt's German shepherd. Most of all, Ignacio loved his family fiercely and would do anything for them.
Those left to honor to his memory include his daughter, Rachael (Brandon) Evans of LeClaire, Iowa; his son, Matthew Garza of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; his grandsons, Ethan & Eli; his sisters, Herminia Stewart of Bryan, Stella (John) Shankster of Bryan, Delia (Roy) Cronk of Sherwood, Ohio, and Mary Bohn of Homestead, Florida; his brothers, Joe Garza of Bryan, Ruben (Cindy) Garza of Nay, Ohio, Filomeno (Cheryl) Garza of Bryan, John (Cheryl) Garza of Bryan and Tony (Sheryl) of Paulding, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Ignacio was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Steve.
