Ronald L. Comden, age 58 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1966, to Robert and Beverly (Wheeler) Comden in Bryan, Ohio. Ron was a 1985 graduate of Fairview High School. On Nov. 3, 2001, he married Mary Fry, who survives.
Ron was employed at Truland Equipment in Napoleon. He previously worked for 17 years at Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Defiance and for five years at Tractor Supply Company in Bryan. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, and he enjoyed almost all other sports. He loved going to auctions, being outdoors with his dogs and enjoying nature. Ron liked 80's Rock and was an avid sports card collector and dealer. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Mary Comden, of Defiance; his "fur children," Kenna, Kole, Kanon, Keesley and Kyper; his sisters, Christine Comden, Debora Comden and Pam (Scott) Reeb; nieces, Brittney Comden, Kimberly (Clint) Hoskins and Shalene (Sam) Pester; nephews, Joshua Reeb and Clay Fry; and three great-nieces, Adilae Comden, Emmiline Hoskins and Kathryn Hoskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rob Comden.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Schaffer Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brobston officiating. Ron will be laid to rest in Ayersville Cemetery.
