Pauline L. Cotsmire
GALION: Pauline L. Cotsmire, 90, of 4995 State Route 19, Galion, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab, Galion after failing health for the last two months.
Pauline was born in Mt. Gilead on January 6, 1921 to the late Lloyd E. and Mabel A. (Ealy) Davis. She married Elzy J. Cotsmire on December 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1998.
Pauline was an avid card player who particularly loved Euchre. She loved all sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. She never missed any sporting events of her grandchildren and would do anything to be there.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Tammy Lacey & Harold Rittenour, Bucyrus, Robert & Michele Lear, Jr., Galion, and Michael & Michelle Lear of Galion; her son-in-law, Robert & Nola Lear, Sr. Pauline has seven great grandchildren, Jason & Amy Lacey, Jesse Lacey, Aaron & Jessica Lear, Michael & Hannah Lear-Jarvis, Derek Lear-Jarvis, Taylor Lear, Jacob Lear; and seven great-great grandchildren, Carman Lacey, Porter Lacey, Chloe Lacey, Ashlyn Lear, Parker Lear, Erica Lear and Addison Jarvis. She is also survived by her two sisters, Gloria Breece, Cardington and Nancy & Maynard Levings, Cardington; and her brother, Roger & Mary Paul Davis, Murfreesboro, TN.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce E. Lear; her brothers, Warren Davis and Carl Davis; and her sister, Helen Hollingsworth.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Loyd Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Sixteen Cemetery, New Winchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
