Ruth Dunlap Obituary
NEVADA: Ruth M. Dunlap, age 86 formerly of 232 Township Highway 59, Nevada, Ohio died at 3:00 A.M., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Ruth also had resided for two years prior at the Carlisle Place, Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born on October 30, 1929 in Tiffin, Ohio to Arthur and Edith (Raudebaugh) Hushour. She married Clarence E. Dunlap on November 22, 1947 and he died March 29, 2008.
Surviving are the following children: Sherry (Bill) Cover, rural Nevada, Ohio, Rebecca Gottfried, Melmore, Ohio, Chris (Tess) Dunlap, Indianapolis, Indiana and Dawn (Rick) Stuckert, Bucyrus, Ohio. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Todd Cover, Heidi Kauffman, Heather Reynolds, Holly Motil, Shandell Dilgard, Shannon Lear, Shawn Dunlap, Brandon Kocher, Brittany Yancey, Tyler Stuckert and Travis Stuckert plus 26 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Bernice (Doyle) Dillon and Shirley (Don) Coppus both of Fostoria, Ohio. Ruth also has two sister-in-laws, Rosie Dunlap and Bette Dunlap.
Ruth was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Gottfried in 1976, one grandson, Robbie Gottfried, two brothers, Charles and Earl Hushour and two sisters, Dorothy Roby and Evelyn Eyer.
Ruth was a homemaker, a 1947 graduate of Melmore High School, member of the Melmore United Methodist Church and The Potter's House Baptist Church in Bucyrus, Ohio. For hobbies Ruth was quite a seamstress making all kinds of costumes for plays and different events and also made wedding gowns. She also loved to bake especially pies, was a former 4-H advisor, loved to travel and especially go on family vacations. For years she sang in the church choir and also recently played in the bell choir at Carlisle Place.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Melmore United Methodist Church with Rev. Jane-Ann Clarke, and Pastor Matthew Skiles officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio and from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to The Potter's House Baptist Church or the Melmore United Methodist Church in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio 44882.
