Brother Bilal As Salaamu Alaikum my Brother,
I've known Bilal for such a long time and he was always a special friend. Bilal always talked about his wife Sister Venita and family because they were so very dear to him. Bilal was always very passionate for what he believed in whether it was an art project or expressing concern for the ills of the African American people. He was especially concerned for those men and women that were incarcerated.
He certainly was the consummate artist. A very powerful and effective drummer, that me and the members of Nat Turner Drum Circle(of Rochester, New York) still remember fondly when speaking of playing with him several years ago.
He was a devote Muslim and loved his imam and masjid. He is loved and will certainly be missed.
Jazakallah Khairun(May Allah reward you tremendously, forgive you of your sins and shortcomings and ease your entrance into the paradise).
May Allah Bless you Sister Venita and Bilal's family to be comforted by all of the good memories and remember:
"With every hardship comes ease"
