Dear Unc, As a child I remember your home as one of my favorite places. I wondered with all the children of her own how Aunt Alice could love me too. All I knew was that she did. I loved her laugh- joyful and authentic. She seemed to have a sparkle in her eyes. Most likely because she had a husband and children who adored her. And God whom she adored. If you look in the dictionary under "love" I'm sure there is a picture of Rich and Alice Graffeo. And to my Graffeo cousins, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your mom. You are her treasures and a testimony of the beautiful life she lived. Love, Carol

Dear Uncle Rich and Family,
I am sorry to hear about Aunt Alice, but she will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness (and her manicotti!).

I have a fond memory of her when I was very little, maybe 4 or so. It was my brothers birthday party and she brought me a gift, so I would feel special too. It was the coolest brown suede purse with fringe. It is still on the back of my door at 18 Poplar. Love to you all.

I send you my heartfelt sympathy on this sad occasion. Your and Aunt Alice's life-long devotion to each other and to family has always inspired me. I know that the loss is greater than any words can convey. Please know I'm thinking of you from afar and holding you close now and in the days to come. Love, Rosemary

I can still remember being at the wedding. Our late Grandma (Frances) Graffeo told me often when I was a child, and a teen, that Alice was an example I should be watching and following. She was always loving, cheerful, patient, kind, and the most important thing to Grandma: HARD WORKING. Even though she had a demanding job as a nurse, and an ever-growing family of her own, Alice would come over to 60 Princeton Place and mow the lawn (no electric lawnmower for her!). She was strong physically as well as emotionally. She was indeed someone to emulate in life - a wonderful person who will be missed by so many, including me.
