BERNECKY - Ann Catherine (nee MacIver) Age 87, of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Buffalo, NY, died October 8, 2011. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 10,1924. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Bernecky; dear mother of Nancy (Ronald) Setzer of Surprise, AZ, Robert Bernecky of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Jean (Thomas Jr.) Hess of Buffalo, NY and Thomas Bernecky of Philadelphia, PA; loving grandmother of Craig (Shelley) Bleekman, David Bleekman, Jennifer Dickerman, Catherine Hess and Andrew Hess; adored great-grandmother of Evynn Bleekman, Wilson Dickerman and Emily Dickerman; Honorary grandmother of Tomoko Watanabe Srinavas; also survived by a sister, Joan (late Robert) Martin and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church, 1 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY at 2 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I have many fond memories of Ann, she was a very caring person with a big heart, a great sense of humor and of course an excellent cook. Although we were not related I will always remember her from my childhood as my “aunt” Bernecky.
