Passed away peacefully at his home on July 8th, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born on February 7th, 1933 to Arlington, Sr. and Marie Smith in Tonawanda, NY. You can't live in Clarence Center without knowing Bud Smith. He was a selfless person who would do anything for anyone, anytime, anywhere. At 15 years old, Bud served on the search and recovery Volunteer Fireman team that found and recovered his younger brother, David Smith. A lifelong fireman who loved to golf on the side, Bud was the recipient of the 50 year Clarence Center Volunteer Fireman Service Award. Bud worked in the Town of Clarence Engineering Department as a Building Inspector for most of his career and later retired in 2003 as the Engineering Crew Chief. In a cumulation of his life of service, Bud was the honored recipient of the Town of Clarence 60 Year Service Award for his years of dedicated service to the residents of the Town of Clarence Center. He is survived by his wife, Alice, and their children Karen Palmerton, Melissa (Jon) Port, and Scott Smith; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings Nancy Kent and Robert Smith. Bud is preceded in death by his son, David Smith, and siblings Arlene Hoch, Janet Boheim, and David A Smith. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11th, 2024, 5:00PM-8:00 PM at (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 8440 Main Street, Williamsville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 12th, 2024, 10:00 AM at St Mary's Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville, NY. Graveside service to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 8231 County Road, Swormville, NY, and Luncheon at Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Company, 9415 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center, NY, at 11:30AM.
