Arthur D. Anders, 79, of Dunkirk died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026. Born April 2, 1946 in Dunkirk, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Adriana G. Anders. A 1963 graduate of Dunkirk High School, Mr. Anders served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was a graduate of Jamestown Community College and attended SUNY Fredonia State University. He worked for the New York State Thruway Authority for many years, including a number of years as a supervisor, until his retirement. He is survived by two sisters, Deborah (Edward) Silverman of Hamburg and Denise (Gary) Zaffalon of Dunkirk; two nieces; two nephews; and one grandniece. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY.
