Age 77, of Buffalo, NY, died October 31, after a lengthy illness. Born in Goldsboro, NC. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for AT&T and also volunteered in the cities she lived in, when employment assignments moved the family to Phoenix, St. Louis, and Northern New Jersey, before making Buffalo her home. She is survived by her son, Theodore Cottrell, II. The family will be available to receive guests on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 11:00AM-12PM at the (Delaware Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1132 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY where Funeral Services will follow at 12PM. I was shocked and saddened by her transition. I had a pleasure meeting Auntie Barbara Cottrell from my mother. (Mozelle Ballard). My mother and Auntie Barbara had a beautiful Friendship and Sisterhood.
We will miss her beautiful spirit. She called me Dear-heart. My mother Mozelle and I are thinking of you and your family.

So sad to hear about Barbara. She will always be remembered. When I would visit in Philly or come down to family reunion. I always enjoyed being around the Whitely family. Aunt Norene's granddaughter feel in love with her wedding and she had the same type of wedding and then Barbara Ann was there for my wedding! Love you family! Reva, Harold, Scoop and Nina.
