Wasik - Bernadette C. (nee Zielinski)
Passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 85 with her family by her side. Bernie was the devoted wife of 61 years of the late Thomas J. Wasik. She is predeceased by her parents Edward J. and Josephine Zielinski. Bernie is survived by her sons Thomas J. (Toni) Wasik Jr. and John (Holly) Wasik; her grandchildren T.J. (Megan) Wasik III, Kristen (Kristopher) Kolden, Brianna Wasik; great-grandchildren Hudson Kolden, Tommy Wasik IV, Teddy Kolden, and Harry Wasik; her sister Theresa (Zielinski/Imiola) Groble; and her brother-in-law Lawrence Wasik; and many nieces and nephews. She met her husband while working at SM Flickinger as a switchboard operator. She later applied her skills working for the FBI. Eventually, she worked as a Deputy Clerk for the US Federal Bankruptcy Court from which she retired in 2001. She was active for 78 years in Our Lady of Czestochowa parish first as a student and later served on PTA, the parish council, and various committees. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family parties, casino trips, and spending time with her grandchildren Brianna, TJ, and Kristen. Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 15th at Buszka Funeral Home, 2085 Union Rd, West Seneca, from 4-8 PM. Please assemble at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 2158 Clinton St. in Cheektowaga on Saturday, September 16th at 10 AM to celebrate Bernie's funeral mass.
