He served as a Major in the New York State Police, retiring in 2013. Beloved husband of Stacy; loving father to Matthew; cherished brother to Susan (Rex) Winkley, Darlene (Alan) Graff, Doreen (Jimmy) Strickland, Elwyn (Ivonne) Cummings, Lisa (Jim) Cummings, and Isaac (Heather) Cummings; proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Aunt Audrey (late Jack) Tuchols, several cousins and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwyn and Shirley Cummings. A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Newstead Fire Company, 5691 Cummings Rd., Akron, NY 14001 from 12:00-4:00 PM with services at 2:00 PM. Condolences to the Cummings family. I worked with Chris at ECMC 2013-2015. He directed the security operations. He was an absolute professional and was exceptional at his work. Very sad to hear of his passing. Way too young. God bless.

Dear Stacy , Christopher , I met your husband and father as a tops driver , what a great man he was . He had lost his phone one day and I took time before leaving on a run to help him find it . We found it in dispatch and he was very grateful . A week later he gave me a gift card from Tim Horton s . I told him Thankyou and then gave it to my wife to use . What a great memory of Chris that gave me . I was sad to hear about Chris s passing but I will hold onto that memory in my heart . I hope all of you have memories of Chris which will ease some of the heart break you are feeling now . I pray to God he gives you strength as Chris would want to live life to the fullest .
