I am so sad my dear colleague and kind friend Clara is no longer walking on this earth for us to love and appreciate. She always had a twinkle in her eye, always a kind word to share and always a helpful professional touch to any task she tackled. When I was pastor of St. Peter´s United Church of Christ and we needed to add a part-time administrative assistant with high quality computer skills, we were very blessed to find Clara, who also amazed us with her high caliber organizational skills. But we soon also discovered that she had the soul of a Clara! We worked close together for 12 event-packed, fruitful years, as chronicled through the church newsletters she edited so superlatively and the Sunday worship bulletins she helped to make so spiritually meaningful. Each day I walked through the office door, Clara´s genial positivity and imperturbable professionalism always shone through. And each day she dressed with amazing elegance, as you may have guessed. Though she was not an official member of our church, she was a beloved part of our church community. She and Tony came to every chicken BBQ and every Christmas and a spring choir concert. She helped our church to become the best St. Peter´s it could be. She was a thoughtful, kind-hearted soul, as evident in her greeting cards to me even after I left St Peter´s. I enjoyed hearing about her trips, and I knew how devoted she was to Tony. May you, her family and friends, know what a profound part Clara had in my ministry, and how my memories of those years of serving in Christ´s name always include her. May her works of faith and compassion continue to ripple out across our lives and world.

I am saddened to hear of Clara´s passing. I knew her from working at the WSDC & I knew her as a very classy woman with a cordial & professional demeanor. It was always a pleasure to chat with her each time I needed to be in the administration building where she worked. May this lovely & gracious lady rest in peace.

Clara was my Supervisor for NYS1990s. We became friends outside work. And I learned so much
from much from her on NYSPolicy, computers just coming in to vogue.Invites to dinner, including my parents, getting to know Tony and 2 beautiful daughters,Lydia and Rose and Brian. These folks became extended family. We all shall miss Clara's vibrance, fabulous organizational skills, and phone calls thru her time away from home. I often housesat, when they cruised. Clara dear, We know ur healed and happy. Tony, we know ur sad, after 70-3/4 yrs wed, it stands to reason. Kudos to Lydia and Rose for setting up both parents in safe environments, when home no longer an option. "All is well, safely home" as an old hymn states. We carry ur love in our hearts.
