It is with deep sorrow that the family of Daniel J. Henry, Sr., 91, announces his peaceful passing in Sarasota, Florida. Daniel was born in Buffalo, New York, to the late Albert and Marguerite (Schwartz) Henry. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (D'Alessandro) Henry, and his brothers, Thomas and Theodore Henry. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Marie (Salley) Henry, and his brother Peter Henry of Mesa, Arizona. Dan studied civil engineering at the University at Buffalo and went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career with the Erie County Highway Department in Western New York. His dedication to public service extended beyond his professional work, as he was a proud Korean War Veteran and also politically active in his community. For ten years, Dan served with integrity and commitment as a councilman on the Hamburg Town Board, where he worked to improve the lives of residents and shape the town's future. A man full of energy, wit, and warmth, Dan brought joy and enthusiasm to every room he entered. He spent many happy days on the greens of Palm Aire Country Club in Florida and Gowanda Country Club in Western New York, where he was an avid golfer. He formed lasting friendships and found great enjoyment in the game. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Marguerite Herman (Gene) of Leesburg, FL. Daniel J. Henry Jr. (Christie) of Hamburg, NY. Thomas Henry (Terri) of Middletown, OH. James Henry (Lisa) of Lakeview, NY. Dan was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren. His life was marked by his vibrant spirit, and deep devotion to family and community. His steadfast faith was a guiding force throughout his life and a source of comfort in his final days. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
