DEAR GLORIA,
I'M SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER ME BUT I WAS PART OF THE FABRIC OF THE EAST SIDE OF BUFFALO. FRAN AND JOE SWONTAK(?) RENTED THE FRONT APARTMENT ON 16 OBERLIN STREET WHERE I ALSO LIVED FOR 40+ YEARS.
DAN HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. I ALSO REMEMBER HIS BROTHER DAVE WHO WAS A VERY GOOD GOLFER.
I'M NOW MARRIED FOR 18 YEARS AND LIVING IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA(SUGAR CREEK,MO).LIFE IS GOOD.
MY DAD PASSED AWAY ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO AND MY MOM FINALLY MOVED INTO A NURSING HOME IN KENMORE.
LOOKING BACK AT THE EASTSIDE I SOMETIMES HAVE A SICK FEELING THE WAY OUR NEIGHBOORHOOD FELL APART.
GRIEF IS SOMETHING WE ALL SHARE IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. OUR CHURCH HAS A GROUP THAT ASSISTS IN GRIEF COUNSELING. MAYBE YOURS HAS A SIMILIAR GROUP. IT'S WORTH A TRY.
LAURA AND I WILL BE IN BUFFALO IN MAY TO VISIT MY MOM AND FAMILY.

It was not so long ago that my daughters and I were going through the same thing you are today. My husband Lee grew up with Daniel on St. Lewis, he often spoke of your family and the nice things they did for him as a child. Dear Sylvia, Alice, Tommy and David,
Growing up next door was an experience I'll always cherish -- memories of sitting on the porch, our chihuahuas, Mrs. Ceilia as crossing guard, and "Mr. Bill." So many years have passed but certainly too few for Daniel to have been taken from you, Gloria and his children. There was something special about being a kid growing up on St. Louis and I remember always looking up to the "older kids." I hope that memories of Daniel's good humor and zest for life will help you through this sad time. Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Danny,
You will be sorely missed. I will never forget your smile, your beautiful, fun, spirit. When I was a child I always looked so forward to the 4th of July party just to listen to your jokes and talk baseball with you. I love you so much. Blue!
