Of Lewiston, NY passed away November 17, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 3, 1944, son of the late David J. and Josephine E. (Savage) Yates. Mr. Yates was a teacher for the Lancaster School District. He enjoyed Curling with his wife and fishing. David is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Cook) Yates, sons James Patrick Yates, Jeffrey David Yates, grandchildren Logan, Maddison and BrieAnn and brother Roy Allen (Sam Copick) Yates. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22 from 1-3PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga St. LEWISTON, NY. Visit www.rhoneyfuneralhome.com for guest register.

Dave was a great friend and colleague of my. We taught together at Lancaster High School for 36 years. He was loved and respected by both faculty and students. We had many a good times teaching and many a good times out of school,especially Fridays. He will always be in our prayers and in our good memories.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr Yates passing. I have so many great memories of high school because of him. I am grateful that our friendship spanned our entire adult lives with the both of you. I am sending love from down south! He was the best!!
