Drobot (Damon-Kucinski), Dolores Marie
March 15, 1936 - March 18, 2024
We announce with great sadness the death of mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Dolores Marie Drobot (formerly Damon-Kucinski). She passed on March 18th, 2024 at 88 years old after a short illness. The family is deeply saddened by her passing. Dolores was born March 15th, 1936 as Dolores Damon, in Buffalo, NY. She spent the beginning of her life with her three brothers, sister, and parents. She graduated from D'Youville College in May of 1959 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. She married Chester Kucinski in 1959 and had her only, beautiful daughter, Megan. She subsequently worked for the New York State public school system for the next 16 years. Dolores married Vladamir Drobot and moved to San Jose, CA in 1973, where she would live for the remainder of her life. She was a substitute teacher from 1973 to 1976; a majority of the time at San Jose City Hall at their juvenile detention facility and a few times in the San Jose City jail. She then went on to teach grade school at Saint Clare's from 1976 to 1991. From 1992 to 2001 she taught adults at the Metropolitan Education District. When she wasn't teaching the future generations of our world, she volunteered at Kaiser Santa Teresa Hospital in admissions that she lived right down the road from. She spent 18 years there from 2006 to 2024, donating her time to helping people from all walks of life. When she wasn't busy with teaching, volunteering, or spending time with her four grandchildren, she was exploring the landscape of Mount Shasta. Dolores and her husband owned a house in Mount Shasta where they spent much of their time hiking with their dogs and sitting on their front porch admiring the wildlife and the mountain which she loved so dearly. In addition to her passion for Mount Shasta, she also possessed a love for traveling. Beginning in her young adulthood, all the way into her later years she traveled all over the world. She visited over 70 countries across the globe. Dolores was a one of a kind, spunky woman that will be remembered forever. She is survived by a large family who loved her dearly, including her spouse Valdamir Drobot, her daughter Megan Malone; four grandchildren, Andrew Gutierrez, Stephen Gutierrez, Audrey Gutierrez, and Kathryn Gutierrez, her brothers; Jim and Gary Damon, and her sister Janet Quick. They will continue to share her memories with everyone they encounter. To Dolores Drobot, we will see you in every sunset we experience, may you find eternal peace in the heavens.
