Edward HARLING Obituary
In loving memory of Edward M. Harling, who passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Bowling Green State University. Edward was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Buffalo Public School teacher for 37 years, and a recreational director of the Police Athletic League, serving the Buffalo East Side community. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jean Harling; dearest father of Nicole R., Sonja D. and Monica F. (Greg); grandfather of Denee, Aujonee, Marissa and Evan; great-grandfather of Makai. Also survived by a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 11am to 12pm at St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell Street, Buffalo, New York, where Funeral services will immediately follow. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, 6400 Sheridan Drive, Suite 320, Williamsville, New York 14221. Condolences to the Family and to the city of Buffalo. This man is a pillar that I personally benefitted from seeing, being mentored by, and and knowing in my youth. He opened the East Utica PAL, laid out the rules and helped use go at it in competition. Help us to see a way to compete with respect and to grow from boys to young men. He loved to teach and was great at it in all his walks and everywhere e went. I was blessed to have him in my liy, thank God and your Family, who so graciously shared him with the whole community.
