Ernest G. EICHLER

EICHLER - Ernest G. Age 81, of North Tonawanda, unexpectedly, December 17, 2013 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. He was a 1950 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, a US Navy veteran serving from 1950-1954. He was a volunteer with the Peace Corps and was stationed in Malaysia from 1969-1970. He worked for 38 years for the North Tonawanda Water Department, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Third Warders Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, euchre and woodworking. Ernest was a fixer and builder of everything for everyone and anyone. Beloved husband of Janet Eichler; dearest brother of Herb (Norma) Eichler and the late Charlotte (late Will) Hofert; father of Stephanie (Barry) Capell, Steven (Sandy) Eichler, Susan (Joseph) Choboy, Gwen Eichler, Scott (Debbie) Neubauer, Kelly (Craig) Raines and Kristen (Pam Vogel) Neubauer; grandfather of Kristen Choboy, Emily (JR) Fairchild, Austin and Amber Neubauer, Danielle Raines, Kurt Byers, and Cameron Raines; great-grandfather of Joseph Kostyrka, Fiona and Sophia Fairchild; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Saturday from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 6 P.M.
