Frank A. MIRANDO

MIRANDO - Frank A. Passed away peacefully in bed on March 31, 2016, a little more than a month after his 90th birthday. Born in 1926 of Italian heritage, the 13th of 15 children, Buffalo was his lifetime home. As a young man, Frank worked the family business selling produce in Buffalo's South Division Street neighborhood. He later found employment with Schreiber Trucking, while he worked to obtain his insurance license. Frank married his first wife, Norma Mirando (ne;e Handley), with whom he raised three daughters, Michelle, Janine and Cathy, who were the apple of his eye. Upon obtaining his insurance license, he started his own business as owner and partner in General All Lines Insurance Agency, a business he maintained successfully for nearly 50 years, along the way adding a side business selling real estate. Frank was a past President and active member of the Lions Club and the Jaycees of Cheektowaga. In 1985, Frank married MaryAnn Mirando (McKernan), with whom he shared over 30 happy years of love, laughter and travel until the end of his life. Frank knew the value of family and took great pleasure in the simple things in life. He enjoyed his wine and his dinner table where he would exercise his penchant for story telling or recycle some of his favorite jokes. We will miss his beautiful smile and his warm friendly way, a gentleman and charmer to the end. Frank is survived by his wife, MaryAnn, his daughter Janine and son-in-law Neal Griffin, countless nieces and nephews, extended family and his cousin, Dr. Edwin Mirand, all of whom he loved. At the family's request, no formal memorial service will be held. Please remember Frank in your own way.
