Frederick Reinhardt Obituary

REINHARDT - Frederick F. Fritz Reinhardt, age 80, passed away at his home in Paradise Valley, AZ on August 23, 2008. He was born on the family farm in Sardinia, New York on August 9, 1928, son of the late John and Magdalena Reinhardt. Beloved husband for 54 years of Rosaland (Limburg); dear father of Marc (Lori) Reinhardt of Phoenix, Arizona, Ellen (Mike) OHare of Troy, Michigan, and Amy Lemery (partner John Wilder) of Fernandina Beach, Florida. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Caitlin, and his favorite grandson, Daniel. Fritz is also survived by brothers Joseph, Arthur, Anthony, Robert and George, and sister Rose and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by siblings Adam, Ann, Helen, Edith, John, Elizabeth, Kathryne and Lawrence, as well as son-in-law Wayne Lemery. Fritz was a graduate of the State University of New York (Buffalo) and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in May of 1991, Fritz Reinhardt was chairman of Ryder Systems Automotive Carrier Division in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Previous to that he was President of the Automotive Carrier Division of Ryder, which was a position he held since 1979. He held executive positions in automobile transport companies since 1954 and joined Ryder Systems in 1968 when M&G Convoy Inc was acquired by Ryder. He was a member of the Protection United Methodist Church in Protection, NY. Memorial service to be held at a later date in Western New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Hospice of the Valley (1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014) or the Reinhardt Family Scholarship Trust (which benefits deserving graduates of Holland High School, Holland, NY).
