Gilda RYAN Obituary

RYAN - Gilda Jean (nee Palesh) Age 85, of the City of Tonawanda, June 29, 2015. She was the beloved "Hun Bun" of Glenn J. Ryan, Sr. who died in 2006; mother of Maureen (Alan) Janik, Glenn J. Ryan, Jr., Janet Ryan-Ogiba, Robin (Thomas) Goff, JoAnn (Mark) Ciofani, Cathleen (Peter) Dauphin and Shawn P. Ryan; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister of Verner Palesh and John (Carol) Palesh; predeceased by three brothers and two sisters; sister-in-law of Virginia Ryan, Mary Lou Palesh, Agnes Palesh and Joseph Gonda; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday in St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 150 Broad St. in Tonawanda. Friends invited. A private entombment will be in St. Francis Chapel Columbarium. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Cursillo Movement, PO Box 1673, Cheektowaga NY 14225 or to . Gilda was a 1947 graduate of Riverside High School and was a member and past President of Tonawandas' Unit 264 American Legion Auxiliary. She was a long time active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Religious Education Teacher and RCIA Co-ordinator. She was also a member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the Buffalo Cursillo Movement.
