It is good for us to remember Gilda near the anniversary of her death. What she and Glenn did for Post 264 was remarkable and worthy of emulation which her daughters and son
have continued. Past Commander Bill

We are so sorry for you loss. We enjoyed many a good story with both your parents through our Legion Family. Know that your mom was a very special lady and always willing to teach me about Auxiliary practices. She will be missed.

Thank you Mrs. Ryan. That's all I can think to say. When my family fractured she folded me into hers. The summer she made wrap skirts for her girls, she made one for me. When she sent her girls on chore runs she sent me on one too, knowing how much I needed to be included in that big boisterous family. Through her great faith, I found my own. And she left behind a gaggle of Gildas and and couple of Glens with the same warm loving heart. Thank you Mrs. Ryan.....for everything.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this about your beautiful mom. I moved in across the street when I was 4, so to say I knew your mom my entire life is a true statement. I am so sorry for your loss, each and everyone of you. Let me just say though how your mom touched my life. Other than being at your house almost daily, your mom taught me everything I know today about canning, making pickles of all kinds, the BEST Swedish meatballs of all time, which I take everywhere and get rave reviews and let's not forget the chicken paprikash, which I never really mastered but I tried. We all were fortunate to grow up in families where there was alot of LOVE, and love your mom did have! As we say goodbye to your mom in the next few days with saddened and heavy hearts, remember through her faith and the faith she taught all of you that she is right where she wants to be. Right up in God's kingdom with her "hunbun" and God's arms wrapped around her. Up with all the other family and friends that have gone before her. Imagine the Gath Terrace reunion that is taking place right now. As some drink their beer and others their iced tea, think of the laughter that is taking place. I'm sure my Dad saved some jokes or learned some new ones as he's been up there waiting. I will never forget Me. Brown. I will always remember the BEAUTIFUL lady, my "neighborhood" mom across the street. I LOVE you all.
Love, hugs and prayers to each and everyone of you.

Dear Maureen, Glenn, Janet, Robin, JoAnn,Cathleen and Shawn,
I offer my sincere condolences in the loss of your mom. Words can not express the personal loss as Gilda joins Glenn in our heavenly home. Your loss reverberates in a community that is so blessed to have shared in her wisdom, commitment and sense of community for so many years. I am only one of the many people she positively influenced through her leadership and service at St. Francis of Assisi, the American Legion, Post 264 and Gilda's club. May you find solace in the legacy you carry on with such dignity and may the blessings your mom bestowed on so many, return to all of you ten-fold.
In loving respect, Bill & Dottie Poole
