Grover Washington Obituary

On December 17, 1999, of Philadelphia; beloved husband of Christine nee Bitner; loving father of Grover III, Shana, stepson Loran P. Massey, and foster son Sean Tucker; sadly missed by mother Lillian Washington and brother Darryl. Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to attend his viewing at The Bright Hope Baptist Church, 12th and Cecil B. Moore Ave, Philadelphia, PA on Thursday, December 23, 8-10:30 AM. Services will be held at 11 AM. Interment at West Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 'Grover Washington, Jr. Memorial Trust Fund', 8610 Evergreen Place, Philadelphia, PA 19118. Proceeds of the donations will be distributed to organizations dedicated to the furtherance of music education, prostate cancer research, heart disease prevention, and other worthy medical causes.
