Dearest Sharon, Torey and TJ,
My mom just forwarded me the announcement about the tinkerball. Living in Cali I am out of touch with hometown local news. I am so sorry for your loss. Jacquie grew up to be such a beautiful young lady and it sounds like her spirit was just as beautiful as her pictures. I will be in town July 24-Aug 3. I would love to stop by the gym and see you! Your family will be in my prayers for continued strength and for a cure!!

Love Always,

Hirsch Family
I met Jacquie through my cousin Ashley Huer. I still remember all those times sitting at Ashley's kitchen table listening to Jacquie talk about school, boys, and of course more boys. She always made me laugh and she had such a sweet, caring way about her. I was in shock when I found out she was sick. But I knew that if anyone could beat it, it would be Jacquie. A few months back I was at work listening to the radio and I heard Jacquie talking about getting people to donate their platelets. I sat there and thought to myself, if anyone could get them to do it, it would be Jacquie. She was truely a remarkable young lady. I wish there were words that I could say to make things better. But there are none that come to mind. Just know that Jacquie touched so many lives that neither you or I know of. She is truely an angel now. She will forever be with you in spirit. Find peace knowing that no matter what, she is never far from you. God bless.

Dear Sharon, Torey and T.J.,
We are sending you our love and
prayers in the passing of Jacquie. We only knew her when she was so
very little. I am sure she has made an impact on so many lives. Michele
and I tried to get in at the Funeral
Parlor however, as you know there were so many waiting that we did not
make it in. God chooses those who
have fulfilled their purpose. It sounds
like she had a heart of gold and has
given so much to everyone she knew.
May you be given the strenghth you need to live through your remaining days.

To the Hirsch Family-
A few days ago I happened upon the notice in the paper about Jacquie. I have been a nurse and my husband an ER physician for close to twenty years. After seeing the passing of many people from young to old and every where in between- I have learned to somewhat distance myself to the pain and saddness of such losses. For some reason I was drawn to Jacquie. I felt such profound saddness in her loss I could not explain it. I had never met her or even heard of her story. I went through today trying so hard to hold back tears. I did'nt want my children to notice. I did'nt want them to ask me what was wrong. I myself have been dealing with a serious medical condition and I don't want to scare them. I went through the day almost numb just doing simple tasks around the house. I got together all the beach towels from the summer to pack them away until next year. I had Jacquie on my mind the entire time. As I was folding the towels I came across one I had never seen before- I was amazed to see it was a tinkerbell towel. I don't know where it came from. I don't know what else to say. She is so lucky to be loved by so many people.

To the Hirsch Family,

Please accept my condolences at this difficult time. I had the pleasure of meeting Jacquie many times as a neighbor of her mother and when she was a girlfriend of my friend's nephew. She was a kind and outgoing girl. I know she fought as hard as she could to the end.

Because of her (and her website), more are aware of how they can help those like Jacquie by donating blood and platelets. She may not have been successful in her fight, but by fighting, she had the power to make more aware and to possibly save more in the future.

My thoughts and prayers to the Hirsch Family.

To the Hirsch family -

I was blessed to have been a team member with Jacquie during our time at Williamsville North. She was a beloved sister to all of us and surely one of the most wonderful people to have met through North's swimming and diving team. I still remember the first time I met her upon finding out she was my big sister, and how welcoming and understanding she was to such a silly 8th grader.
Jacquie will be greatly missed, and I feel blessed for having her be a part in my life.
My blessings and sympathies to you all, and may peace be with you.

Torey, Sharon and TJ,

My best memories consist of such a kind and loving family. I have spent the last year thinking of Jacquie and what I could possibly do to help her or the Hirsch Family. But, I came to the realization, there really wasn't anything I could do to "help"...
A few years back I volunteered for a non-profit organization called "Camp Good Days". It was created years ago to give those diagnosed with terminal cancers, survivors or their relatives the opportunity to forget about the pain and suffering, even for just a day, to have some fun. Those were some of the best times of my life. Watching those kids smile and play as if they were invincible. I have since moved away to AZ, and I am not able to do as I once was.
But, I am committed to keeping Jacquie's memory alive through educating those of the "Jacquie for A.L.L." Foundation.
Such awful things happen to the best people. I heard once, without suffering there would be no compassion...it never did make much sense to me...
As much pain as you feel, may the thoughts of lives that were touched and lives that were changed by one powerful girl, put you at ease.
My life is forever changed.
Always blessing, never losses...

I was fortunate to have met Jacquie several years ago at SUNY Geneseo where she graciously drove me to Rochester so that we could volunteer in the city schools. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations on early morning drives. I'll always remember how she was never stressed when we got lost even though we had found the school the previous visit somehow with no problem! She will be missed by all, even those who were touched by her for even brief moments.
