Devoted husband of Shirley (nee Tweed) Doherty; beloved father of Christopher (Amanda) and Matthew (Katie) Doherty; cherished grandfather of Kariena and Kaitlyn; loving son of the late James F. Doherty and Doris Howell; dear brother of the late Patricia Dzielski and John Doherty; brother-in-law of Robert (Jane) Tweed and Bonnie Doherty; also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, on Saturday, November 8, from 3:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James's name to Hospice Buffalo. Condolences may be made at lombardofuneralhome.com.
