Working with Dr McDaniel at GBS was a privilege. I will always be grateful for his friendship and encouragement. My favorite memory was when his son surprised him by playing Santa at a Christmas party at his home. Dr McDaniel had no idea that he would be visiting. ( James Jr- I still have your autograph). Rest in peace.

Dr. James McDaniel was there to help me born with my son Robert surden jr when I was in labor and I struggled childbirth for 15 hour of labor until finally baby came out and Dr. James Daniel was happy and tear and gave me big hugs and I will never forget about you hugs

I was not aware of your passing. You delivered my late daughter at the Deacons Hospital.
You found out my tolerance to pain and after 27 and a half hours you decided to deliver her via C section.
May your soul rest in peace and perhaps you will see my daughter. Her smile radiates heaven.

The best mentor during residency training. I learned so much and credit Dr. McDaniel with much of the technique I took with me into practice. Best memories include "take care of it doctor, nothing you can't handle,"I'm going to watch my son for the next hour" on Tuesday nights. Rest easy Dr. mcDaniel.

Dr. McDaniel's assisted me in delivering my son 9/1980 from the old demolished Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, NY. I thought of him today 3/2022. He will always be remembered and treasured in the black community for delivering many babies. Also, included in his memory is the Geneva B. Scruggs Health Center where he worked as a practicing physician.

Dearest Doctor McDaniel,
You were the best OBGYN I could have ever hoped for during my pregnancy of my (late) daughter Coki Tai Bennett. When Bennett, Coki and I moved to Atlanta, you and I remained friends. As others have written, you were mild mannered, incredibly intelligent, and reassuring. I remember the white paper/document you penned on the success of a woman's pregnancy 'post hysterectomy' - I was amazed or spellbound was more like it because of your humility and blessed spirit, about your success. I admired you.
I only regret I didn't have the chance to say good-bye. May your soul rest in peace- forever.

James McDaniel you were an amazing doctor with a humble loving caring spirit. When I gave birth to my first son I was scared and you always calmed me right down. This man saved my life while giving birth to my second child. I got to the hospital before him and they wanted to do an emergency C-section. He came in like Superman!!! made them push me back into the room and I gave birth to my daughter safely. I remembered that he laughed at me when I told him that I was so upset that I was pregnant 5 years after he had tied my tubes. He said to me "I don't know why your so upset you are a great mother" I gave him a crazy look as if to say I have no idea what your talking about. He smiled and gave me a hug. And that hug took me back to the beginning. And I calmed right down.

Dr. McDaniel was my Dr. when I gave birth to my first 2 sons. He was a great source of strength and information throughout my pregnancies. He was soft spoken and I remember how proud he was of his sons accomplishments in acting. He touched me with his kindness, big smile, and will be missed. RIP.

Dr. McDaniels was a blessing to me. He was a soft-spoken supportive doctor that cared about what his patients were going through, dealing with and how they felt. He was a true scholar in life being a good doctor and a good listener. he would share some of his life stories with me and I would think "you're a good father and a good person". Dr. James McDaniels I will never forget you... rest in peace.

Dr. James McDaniels has been in my family for years. I am currently 56 years old and remember Dr. McDaniels was one of my previous GYN doctors. Not only that but he also was a GYN for my mother, aunts, sisters & my grandmother. He was a dedicated doctor and a wonderful man.
He will be sorely missed but of course never forgotten.
