ROBBINS - Janet (nee Ruland) January 20, 1926 to November 18, 2015 Janet R. Robbins, 89, formerly of Emory Dr. in Jamestown, NY, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2015 at her daughter Deborah's home in Williamsville, NY, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Samuel B. Robbins, Jr., her parents Bert and Mary Ruland, her sister Lucille (Ben) Bishop and her brother Bert Jr. all of Jamestown, NY. She is survived by her children Deborah Robbins, Martha (James) Anderson of Pleasant Prairie, WI and William J. (Susan) of Williamsville, NY; grandchildren Jamie Anderson, David (Maren) Anderson, Wm. Jeffrey Robbins Jr., Samantha Robbins and Jacob Robbins; also survived by sister-in-law Priscilla Robbins; nieces Julie (Don) Bradley, Susan (Cris) Collie, Anne Robbins and nephews Stephen (Cindy) Bishop, Bruce (Phyllis) Roginson, John (Ann-Louise) Roginson, Charles (Carol) Robbins and her granddog Baxter. Janet graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944, Jamestown Business College and Harcum Junior College. She was a longtime member of Moon Brook Country Club, where she was an active golfer and tennis player. A member of the Ellicottville Ski Club since 1961 where she and her family enjoyed skiing at Holiday Valley. Janet was a past member of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club (Lightning Fleet) and the Rod & Gun Club. She was also very active with WCA Country Capers, Jamestown Garden Club, Norden Club, Creche' and the First Presbyterian Church. A celebration of Janet's beautiful life will take place in Jamestown at the First Presbyterian Church, 519 Prendergast Ave., on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1 PM.
