Only today did we hear the sad news that our friend Joel has passed away. Our thoughts go to Francie, Joels children and brother Melvin.
Our friendship goes back to the 80's when we first met in Sweden when Joel's personality made immediate marks. What a gentleman! True quality and a gentle giant. Memories that stand out were skiing together in Aspen together with Susan and many of Joel's friends.
Joel was an outstanding man and a true friend. Hélène and I will miss him.

Joel introduced me to sailing, on a not too windy day. It changed my life, from golfer to sailor. I enjoyed many sail days and races with Joel.

To Francie and family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Joel's passing. What a gentleman and beautiful soul. I have always considered myself to have been the lucky one to have crossed paths with Joel. Honestly, he was without question, the most honorable man whose wisdom in life and business will never be matched. I honestly believe that, having had the honor to serve and learn from him. He touched my life in ways that I can't express in words. A mentor, a leader a friend I will forever treasure having known Joel, he will be greatly missed by Linda and I. My deepest sympathies to you Francie and his family.

I had the pleasure of working for Joel and Mel at DL (Banite Group) 1981-1988.
Joel was a real gentleman, and I will always remember him as a very kind and fair man.
I enjoyed my time working at DL with them both.

He was a kind soul, always with a positive thought, and a smile on his face, and loved his family which was always evident when Joel and Mel were together.
