John DONLON Obituary
Passed peacefully December 7th, 2022. Beloved Husband of Marcia (Jankowski) Donlon. Loving brother of R. Timothy (Glynn) Donlon and brother-in-law of Bruce (late Joyce) Kirst. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Tuesday December 13th, 2022 from 9:30am-11am at The Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst. A prayer service will be held at 11am at The Dietrich Funeral Home, where A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at Christ The King Church, 30 Lamarck Dr., Amherst. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Collegiate Institute, 845 Kenmore Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223. Or to Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, 4421 Lower River Rd Stella Niagara, NY 14144. Online condolences may be shared at www.thedietrichfuneralhome.com

Words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear. Pat was inspirational and a great communicator. He thought about things in such a creative way. He helped me think about problem-solving in a new way. I really admired his work ethic. I worked with him at the Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce. I also loved hearing about your travels around the world. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Marcia:
Words can't describe the sadness I felt upon reading of the passing of your beloved Pat.
Pat was my professional mentor during my years working at the Greater Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.
He taught me how to write!
More importantly he taught me how to write with style. I've used that style to propel me professionally. What more would a mentor want than that?
I will cherish all the nuggets of information he passed to me and hope that I made him proud -- and not dangled too many participles.
He always referred to you as his Girlfriend and I know that he loved you immensely.
May God bless you Marcia in your time of bereavement and May God bless John Patrick Donlon!

Dear Marica -
I was so very sad to hear of Pat's passing. He was a wonderful mentor to me and I carry with me many lessons that he taught - about work and about life. One of my favorites: "Worry is like a rocking chair. It may give you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere." Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
