JABLONSKY - John Age 88, of West Sixth Street, Oneida Castle, NY, died Saturday evening, March 16, 2013 in Oneida Healthcare Center where he had been a patient for the past week. Born in Valley Forge, PA on August 31, 1924, he was the son of Charles and Mary Topinka Jablonsky. A resident of the area for the past year after moving from Lady Lake, FL, John graduated from High School in Buffalo and then went on to be trained as a journeyman electrician. He married Elizabeth R. Ryszka in Lackawanna in 1946. Mrs. Jablonsky died on November 12, 2008. Prior to his retirement in 1976, John was an electrician with the Local 41 union in Buffalo. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars while residing in Florida, a member of the Knights of St. John in Buffalo, a trustee of Queen of Heaven Church in West Seneca and attended St. Joseph's Church in Oneida. John was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1943 to 1945, during World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen Jablonsky and her dear friend, Becky Billittier of Oneida Castle and Rose Ann Predmore and her husband Timothy of Granby, CT; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edmund W. and Mary Collette Jablonsky of Houston, TX Stephen and Lynn Jablonsky of Rochester; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM Saturday from St. Patrick's Church, 347 Main Street, Oneida, where the funeral mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Richard Kapral, pastor. Interment will be made in Veteran's National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. There are no calling hours.
