God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home. This poem gave me comfort when Grama passed away I hope it can bring the same to you. sending my love Jennifer

We as parents of Joe would like to thank everyone for the kind words you have all said about Joe. It helps our terrible grief to know all the wonderful things Joe has done and how many lives he has touched and probably never knew. Joe was a humble man with simple pleasures. He loved nature and the outdoors. His sense of humor was infectious and he lighted up our lives. He wouldn't allow anyone to speak unkindly of anyone. He was deeply religious, he was truly a man of God and lived the gospel.
He fought so hard to be well. The past three years have been horrible, he did everything he could to fight this horrible disease. Dispite his illness he volunteered at two soup kitchens, crisis services, roswell park cancer inst. lord of life, introducing an exercise program for the seniors, lorentian society, leading handicapped children on horses, attended numerous bible studies , mens prayer groups, daily mass and nightly visits to st. gregory the great. He tried so hard. The world has lost one of the best. OUr hearts are broken and only hope that he is at peace and is in a better place, suffering no more. Thank you again for your wonderful memories, please keep us in your prayers, love and God Bless Pat and Joe Marchese

A message from Joe's beloved sister Darci, read at his funeral mass.
The world has lost a loving, kind, patient, humble, remarkable man. Joe touched the lives of everyone he knew in such a special way in ways Joe will never know..
When Joe was a physical therapist working with special needs kids, he became their hero. One little boy called 911 and wanted Joe because he needed to talk to him. That's who Joe was...he was there for everyone; he never uttered an unkind word about anyone nor would he let anyone in his presence talk about anyone. He had so much love in his heart and gave it freely to others. Joe was a patient, loving Dad who cherished every moment spent with his beloved son, Thomas. Thomas looked up to is Dad with all his heart. He was his hero.

I am blessed to have known and loved Joe and to have his greatest gift with me, our son Thomas. I am asking that if you have stories or memories of Joe, please share them with Thomas, so that he may know all the joy and kindness his Father brought into this world. I can only share the joy he brought to my life, and I know there was so much more.

Joe was a loyal friend and a person of unique character, passion and quality. He applied his degree in Physical Therapy to help the handicapped and others with need. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time in some of the most beautiful parts of the country. His sense of humor was simply unparalleled, and because of him, I am blessed with many fond memories. I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and my wishes and prayers go out to his loving parents, sister and son.
