Born in Buffalo, NY to John F. and Anna (Yager) Scully. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Kathleen H. (Rauls) Scully. Survived by children Daniel J. (Denise) Scully and Sharon M. (Joseph) Federico; six grandchildren: Daniel, Caitlin, Clare, Meghan, Bridget, and Grace; siblings Kathleen (Phil) Lauck, Paul (Joan) Scully, and Bob (Liz) Scully. Predeceased by siblings Ann (Mike) Manganiello and Jack (Mary) Scully. Joe graduated from C.H.S. in 1950 and retired from AT&T in 1989 as National Account Sales Manager after a distinguished career with NY Telephone and Kemper Insurance. He met Kathleen while working as a claims adjuster, and they married in 1959, beginning a lifelong love story. A passionate supporter of youth sports, Joe helped organize successful baseball and hockey programs in Tonawanda, including the Morrison Mets and Ken-Ton Kings, and co-founded the Queen City Hockey League. He also coached varsity hockey at Canisius High School and was honored with the John F. Barnes Award for his contributions. Joe's fundraising efforts for Canisius College were recognized by then President Vincent J. Cooke, S.J. Joe will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery, alongside his wife Kathleen, the "Captain" Inspiration, and helmsman of their successful life's journey. Family and friends may call Friday December 12, from 4-8 PM at the JOHN E ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 280 Grover Cleveland Hwy (at N. Bailey). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 13 at 11:30 at St. Timothy RC Church, 565 E. Park Drive, Tonawanda NY 14150. Please share condolences www.jerfh.com.
