To all of Kate's family and dear friends - So very sorry to hear of your devastating loss. I trust that you will find comfort in your many fond memories made with her...though the hole in the family with her absence will be so hard to ignore. Hang in there. The Frank Maleck Family (Dolores, Bonnie, Frances, Jim
She Is Just Away
I cannot say, and I will not say
That she is dead, she is just away!
With a Cheery Smile and a wave of the hand
She has wandered into an unknown land.
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be since she lingers there,
And you - oh you, who the wildest yearn
For the old-time step and the glad return.
Think of her fairing on, as dear
In the love of there, as the love of here,
Think of her still as the same, I say.
she is not dead - she is just away.

To Kate's family, please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I've worked with Kate during her 23 years as a special education teacher with Erie 1 BOCES. She had a significant influence on the lives of students with disabilities especially assisting her students to receive their high school diploma. Her personal influence on the lives of students will be greatly missed and certainly will be her legacy. Thank you Kate for your years of dedicated service.

I took care of your Mom at Buffalo Medical Group for many years. She was so sweet and so brave. All she ever talked about were her boys and their sports. She was so proud of you all and loved you very much.

My son Joe was Mrs. Maleck's student for two years, and I can honestly say there was nobody like her. She was the most caring, loving, dedicated teacher we've ever known, and in the short time we knew her, we grew to love her like family.
Our whole family was devastated to hear the news. Our hearts go out to all the people who loved Mrs. Maleck, to all the students like my son whom she helped guide through high school, and of course, to Wayne and the boys. You will be in our prayers throughout this difficult time.
