Laurice BOEHMER Obituary
Machias, NY. Founder of Boehmer Transportation Corp. passed away Saturday (July 15, 2023). Born July 22, 1930 in Machias. "Chuck", founded Boehmer Transportation Corp. in the 1950's hauling milk. Buying his first gravel truck in 1959, he went on to become one of the area's largest gravel trucking companies in western NY. Surviving is a daughter Marlene Gleason, 2 sons, Richard "Dick" (Pam) Boehmer, and Don (Sandy) Boehmer all of Machias, 4 grandsons, Donald, Brandon, Darren Boehmer and Bart Steele and 8 great grandchildren.He was predeceased by his wife Janet, and 4 siblings. Friends are invited to either the grave side service Saturday (July 29, 2023) at 11am in Maple Grove Cemetery in Machias or the family will receive friends, also Saturday (July 29, 2023) from Noon until 3pm at the Machias American Legion. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the Machias Volunteer Fire Dept. PO Box 315, Machias, NY 14101 or to the Gary Herman Memorial Park, C/O Town of Machias, PO Box 87, Machias NY 14101. Online condolences can be sent to www.babbitteastonfh.com

My name won´t mean much to your family, but, your name brings back a lot of memories to me. My dad. Frank Guido, called on Chuck back in the day. He did work for Frontier Stone, and was an Independent Contractor. He very much admired Chuck. My father told of their friendship thru business and how he was a `good´ man, an honest man, and had integrity. I feel that they are working out the business deals again, in heaven. My father passed 28 years ago, but I can still remember our conversations about Chuck and Elmer. With all good thoughts and prayers for your family.
