September 10, 2022, of Elma, NY. Loving wife of the late Matthew F. Foley Sr.; dearest mother of Michael (Joy) Foley, Maryann Lohmann and the late Matthew (Nancy) Foley Jr.; beloved grandmother of Patrick Foley, Jason Foley, Amy Lohmann, Richard Lohmann and Thomas Lohmann; great-grandmother of William, Hannah, Amelia and Emily; dear sister of Gladys (late Norman) Gibbon and the late Robert (Kathy), late Richard (Mely), late John (Maxine) and the late William (late Shirley) Axberg; also survived by nieces and nephews. Private Funeral Services were held at the convenience of the family. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. Online condolences at www.howefunerahome.com

Dear Maryann, Mike and family,
Your mom was blessed with a long life, yet the sadness of her passing tugged at my heart strings. You were the first friends we made when we moved to Elma and your mom always invited me to stay to eat. Then there was girl scouts where for decades I carried around the sewing box and apron she showed us how to make along with memories of hiking to the park to make beef vegetable stew on the grills. Of course there were the animals like Pinocchio, Bill, chickens, which Shamus loved, and pigs. Climbing the trees for fruit, tossing bales into the loft, tending the vegetable stand, sleep overs, setting up play farms on the front porch and trail rides as kids and adults.
My last trip to NY, I thoroughly enjoyed having you and your mom over for steaks on the grill with hours of catching up with good conversation and laughs. Your mom will be missed and left an indelible mark on my life for the better, which I had the privilege of sharing with her when we last met. I know in my heart God is going to take good care of her.
