Rob, I did a double take going through the obits online and realized after the pics it was you and your Mom - God Bless her, what a run at life! Know she is at peace, be strong and keep the faith.

Well Mom, in a blink of an eye, you went from cute little Peggy Zuegel to Great Grandma Peg! You lived a long and wonderful life, 96 years! From playing your grand piano as a youngster to appearing and winning on The Price is Right in 1958, you had it all covered. Losing your Dad at the age of 21 set the stage for your pragmatic approach to life. Who would have thought that the irritating 13 year old boy ( 2 years your junior) who sprayed you with a garden hose while you and your folks were visiting his next door neighbor's, would end up being your husband 13 years later after reconnecting at a Kleinhan's Music Hall dance! Your trips with Pop to Atlantic City each year to see the Miss America Pageant were certainly memorable; in fact, one year you were mistaken for Miss Virginia by one of the judges and since you were with a man ( Pop) he was ready to disqualify you! Our family vacations to Scottsdale, Atlantic City, and Fort Lauderdale created everlasting memories! At one point in the 1970s, you could name every coach in the NBA as you ardently followed the Phoenix Suns and the Buffalo Braves! Cracking your tooth on Crunch n Munch candy circa 1976, changed your life into the fitness guru you became! From meditating with incense on your slant board each day with your pancake makeup on, to riding your bike and drinking your protein shakes, you set the fitness standard! Rising early each morning for many years to do your Olympic swim laps for an hour plus was truly impressive. September 30, 1998 was the day you lost your husband of 41 years; despite this loss, you remained pragmatic and stayed strong. As the years passed and you hit 90, your physical abilities started to diminish but yet your mind and opinions remained intact. One too many physical falls over time recently got the best of you; however, I never heard you once complain about your lot in life. Ultimately, you passed 27 years 27 days after Pop. At times, you and I were like combustible gas together; however, we both did our best. I'm grateful for your generosity in overlooking my faults. I love you and thank you for your tough love, guidance, discipline, high expectations and the love of physical fitness you gave me. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. I'll miss you forever Mom; rest easy. I will close this as you did with your notes: "All the best" and " Keep the faith". Rob
