Age 86, a longtime Buffalo area resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Erie, PA, after a long and fulfilling life. Margaret was born in 1939 in Buffalo, NY, to Chris and Margaret Christopherson. In 1960, she married Salvatore S. Pagano at St. Teresa RC Church. Salvatore passed away in 1988. Margaret was a woman of faith and had affiliations with both the Catholic and Lutheran churches. She is survived by her five children: Stephen Pagano (Kathleen), Teresa Nelis (Mark), Amy Pagano, Michael Pagano (Christina), and Susan Johnson. She also leaves behind her brother, Douglas Christopherson of Kenmore. Margaret was the cherished grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Benjamin (Jessica), Timothy (Makenzie), Margaret, Jane, Owen (Carah), Mary, Olivia, Gabriella, Carly, Joseph, and Charles. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Sophia and Emma. Margaret attended Canisius College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science in Education. Margaret was a dedicated English Language Arts Teacher at Bath County High School in Warm Springs, Virginia, before returning to Buffalo to become an adjunct English Professor at Canisius College. Margaret volunteered for various organizations such as the Girl Scouts, PTA, Mother's Club of Buffalo, Hope Chest, and high school clubs and sports. A Mass for Margaret will be held at Christ the King Chapel at Canisius College on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
