Mark Sanderson

1953 - 2025

Mark Robert Sanderson, age 73, of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2026. He was surrounded by love and the comfort of his family. A devoted husband, Mark shared a life filled with love and partnership with his wife, Barbara (Madden) Sanderson.

Born on September 3, 1953, in Buffalo, NY, Mark spent his early years there before moving to Western Massachusetts in his twenties. It was there he met Barbara, and in 1991 they settled into their forever home in Plymouth.

Mark built a proud career as a Union Carpenter-a profession that gave him deep purpose and satisfaction. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident not only in his work but also in the beautiful woodworking projects he created for those he loved.

An avid boater and fisherman, Mark cherished time on the water, finding peace in nature's rhythm and excitement in every catch. He also enjoyed golfing with family and friends, embracing every opportunity to share laughter and connection.

Above all else, Mark treasured his family. Becoming a grandfather to Halle was one of the greatest joys of his life. His strength, steady kindness, and unwavering integrity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, Mark is survived by his son Christopher Sanderson; daughter-in-law Lindsey; granddaughter Halle; brothers Tom Sanderson and George Sanderson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on November 14 from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. at Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth, MA. A memorial service will follow immediately at 5:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark's memory to the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless.

Mark's legacy lives on through the joy he brought to others and the love he so freely gave.
